Alan Michels is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut, with degrees in Bassoon Performance and French Language and Literature. Mr. Michels has studied with Frank Morelli of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Mark Goldberg of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, and Linda Harwell, formerly of the National Symphony Orchestra. He performs in the Washington area with many organizations, including the Wolf Trap Opera Company, National Philharmonic, Summer Opera Theatre Company, Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, McLean Orchestra, Landon Symphonette, Trio Ventoso, Coriolis Quintet, Difficult Run Jazz Ensemble, and of course Great Noise Ensemble.
