Matan Minz started the cello at the age of twelve. During high school he performed in groups such as the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra and the Philadelphia Sinfonia. He has also taken part in the Mizreh winter cello festival in Israel, the Rowan International Music Festival, and Camp Encore/Coda. Matan is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music at the University of Maryland studying with David Teie.
