Rebecca Kletzker, viola

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Rebecca Kletzker began her musical career at age nine on the violin and piano. At fourteen she moved on to the viola and become a member of the Ladue Stolling Stings quartet, beginning her professional career. Throughout this time she was also involved in several area ensembles including the Alton Symphony and the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Rebecca completed her viola performance and music education degrees, summa cum laude, at the University of Memphis and began a masters in musicology. While there, she was extensively involved in the Collegium Musicum, playing the violin, viola and tenor viol. She also was a devout member of the Contemporary Chamber Players and the New Sounds ensembles. Rebecca has recorded with Jerry Finney, a local Memphis artist, as well as for Ardent Studios. There she had the opportunity to play with a string quartet on both of Todd Agnew’s albums, Grace Like Rain and Reflections of Something.

She is currently pursuing a masters degree in viola performance at the University of Maryland.
