Sacha Place, flute

Sacha Place began her musical career in the Washington-Idaho Symphony and studied with Ann Marie Yasinitsky. She played with the Berkshire Symphony and performed in Williamstown and at Tanglewood. After earning her bachelor’s degrees at Williams College, Sacha studied at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Music with Alberto Almarza, former principal flutist of the Symphony Orchestra of Santiago, Chile, until earning her Master of Music degree in flute performance. Sacha lives in Takoma Park, teaches chemistry and art history at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C., and performs regularly with the Coriolis Quintet, Trio Ventoso, and other ensembles in the D.C. metropolitan area.
